Decorating in honor of Cookie Monster can be really fun. Going overboard on the color blue is a great way to get started with your theme. Make everything blue, including balloons, streamers, birthday signs, confetti, hanging decorations, table decorations, and more. Cover the floor of your party venue with non-helium balloons; if nothing else, children will love kicking, punching, and bopping balloons back and forth. You can even get a Cookie Monster Mylar Balloon which is a really fun decorations for all kids! If you really want to decoratie with the Cookie Monster himself than a cookie monster scene setter, which you attach to your wall, is a great thing for the kids.
Since C is for Cookie, make a giant letter C on poster board (several if you like), cut it out, and display it on your front door or on a wall. Use brown butcher paper or the inside of brown paper bags to make your own giant cookie decorations – add some construction paper chips, then hang your cookies on the wall or make a cookie path on the floor.
If you have chosen to play Pin the Cookie in Cookie Monster’s Mouth, you will need to make a large character drawing of Cookie Monster. Use butcher paper or look for a cardboard cut-out at your local party store.
You will also be able to find a variety of Sesame Street decorations that you can use to decorate your front door, the party room, or wherever else you choose – you can find banners, signs, cake-toppers, cut-outs, posters, and more.
Instead of traditional party hats, find some furry blue wigs for guests or make your own cookie cone-shaped hats. Buy some plain colored party hats and allow each guest to decorate his or her own hat with a variety of cookie stickers, drawings, blue fur, ribbon, yarn, glitter, and googly eyes.
